Safe and Sane

Safe and Sane
April 21, 2020 Greater Freeport Partnership

As we enter our fifth week (seems like the 50th week!) of state-wide Stay-at-Home order, we are all continuing to look for answers. How much of a threat is the coronavirus to ourselves, our family and friends, and our businesses? What is the best way to deal with these threats? What programs are in place or being put in place to help mitigate the financial impacts of this situation to my business and my family? Which strategy is best for my business? How can I help my community?

We want to know when things will get back to “normal,” although normal seems like an increasingly unfamiliar concept. We are working hard to provide you with the answers you need to help you make good decisions. In addition to our robust COVID-19 pages on our website which are frequently updated and curated, we will continue our series of webinars and conference calls designed to bring you access to those who can shed some light on this situation. This week, on Friday at noon, we will have Jenny Blocker, a Partner and CPA with Benning Group talking about the Paycheck Protection Program and Retention Tax Credits. Sign in details are elsewhere in this newsletter. Look for additional programs coming soon!

Just as important as getting information about how to respond to this unique situation is figuring out how to stay sane during this time of extended isolation and uncertainty. We are providing some options in our ALL IN Stephenson County newsletter that comes out every Thursday. While this newsletter is traditionally about tourism and events, we have transitioned it to be more appropriate for our current situation. If you haven’t opened it recently, I encourage you to do so. It is full of activities, links and ideas to help you manage better in these challenging times! If you don’t get the newsletter, let us know and we will add you to the mailing list!

Above all, stay safe and stay sane!
