This course is six sessions, 2 hours per session. This is a fun class where we get to play with shapes, make functional vessels such as platters, plates, mugs, bowls and vases. Let your imagination be your guide!
We will use a variety of low tech construction methods that make clay accessible to anyone, no expensive equipment needed, and with a few safety precautions, most people can hand build beautiful pieces on their kitchen table.
Learn how to pinch, coil and slab build whatever your heart desires!
This course is suitable for beginners or experienced students, adults, and children over 10, who would like to have an overview of many hand-building techniques to make small functional forms. The student will learn safe operation and use of studio equipment such as a slab roller and extruder, and the basics of pinched, coiled, and slab built processes as well as the use of many hand tools.
