Northwest Illinois Ale Trail

Northwest Illinois Ale Trail

One of the most iconic drives in the Midwest is now home to breweries rich in flavor and history. In your own time, visit each of the seven breweries in Stephenson and Jo Daviess counties and you’ll get the t-shirt to prove it!

Generations Brewing Company

Craft brewing is all about celebrating tradition, heritage and independence – and having fun while doing so. Built in 2014, Generations BrewIng Company resurrected the once thriving brewing industry in Stephenson County. The industrial-chic tap room offers artisan ales and lagers of all colors and varieties. Try the all-around classic, Pretzel City Amber – an American Amber Ale made with carmel malts and the addition of locally made pretzels thrown into the mashtun that make the brewery smell like a bakery at sunrise. Enjoy craft brewing as it was intended.

A Leadership Lesson from an Eclipse April 22, 2024 Yesterday at 3:26 pm, my city experienced a 97% solar eclipse. In other words, we were just off-center from the path of totality.
