Freeport – The Momentum Art Guild will be exhibiting works from their member artists at the Stephenson County Visitor Center from September 18-November 13.
The visitor center is located at 4596 US Highway 20 east of Freeport and is open to the public 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 pm. Viewing the exhibit is free to all residents and visitors.
Artists displayed in the exhibit include Ellen Bartels, Phyllis Bergagna, Roger Goodspeed, Jane Goodspeed, Faye Hughes, Larry McCoy, Nanette Mosher, Sheila Welch, Eleanor Wells, Frances Shriver, Janice Lockwood and Barbara Lawson. Many of the works displayed will be priced for sale.
“It is always a pleasure to have the Momentum Art Guild in the visitor center. Their beautiful pieces are representative of the immense talent we have in our area and they enliven this space each fall,” said Nicole Haas, Greater Freeport Partnership Brand Director and manager of the visitor center.
Momentum Art Guild (MAG) is a regional, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing interest in the visual arts and supporting the development of individual artists. Usually, the group meets each month, but due to COVID-19, they have been limiting in-person gatherings, so recent meetings have been via Zoom. The Stephenson County Visitor Center welcomes travelers and residents to Stephenson County near the Highway 20 bypass. The center is staffed with knowledgeable hostesses who direct visitors to the sites, attractions, shopping destinations and restaurants in Stephenson County. The center is operated by the Greater Freeport Partnership.
