Leadership Transition for Partnership

Leadership Transition for Partnership
July 25, 2023 Nicole

The Greater Freeport Partnership continues to evolve and grow as an organization to meet the needs of our members and community with the support of amazing partners and team.

Our Executive Director, Mark Williams has been a great asset to our team over the last three years with extensive economic development knowledge and experience. However, Mark has tendered his resignation of this position to seek other opportunities and be closer to family. Mark is committed to working with the board and staff to ensure a smooth transition until his departure on September 15. During this time he will be completing outstanding projects and initiatives to uphold all commitments to our members. We would like to thank Mark for his expertise and service to the Partnership and growing the mission which involved many significant and challenging accomplishments.

With the recommendation from Mark Williams and full support of the board executive committee, Andrea Schultz Winter will assume the role of interim executive director for the Partnership.  Andrea has worked diligently over the past several years in expanding her economic development knowledge through professional development and personal mentoring by Mark.  We are confident that her leadership, knowledge of economic development, community engagement, and the ongoing support of our talented team, service to our members throughout our entire area will remain of utmost importance.

We wanted you, our members and partners, to be the first to know of this important news in a timely manner. As such, the board is evaluating next steps and will keep you informed of further developments when necessary. We are fortunate during this transition period to have Mark remain with us to ensure the continued development and success of the organization. We are also grateful to have a talented community-centered and tenured team at the heart of our Partnership.

In closing, we would like to thank Mark for his work at the Partnership and wish him the best in his future endeavors. The Greater Freeport Partnership continues to be the place where people and organizations unite to advocate for economic development and growth throughout our region. The board and team appreciate your continued support and engagement as we navigate the changes ahead to strengthen our membership-driven organization.
