Freeport – The City of Freeport and the Greater Freeport Partnership are pleased to announce Halloween activities to spread the spooky sentiment of the season. Details of the Halloween costume photo contest and the Halloween coloring contest can be found at greaterfreeport.com/Halloween.
The Halloween costume photo contest encourages participants of all ages to try out their costumes a little early, take their best photo, and email their photo by October 28. Prizes will be awarded for best overall costume, best family costume and most creative costume and winners will be announced on social media on October 29. Photos for the contest can be submitted via email to photos@greaterfreeport.com.
Even before the pages were colored, the Halloween coloring contest was off to an amazing start! High school students from Aquin and Freeport High Schools submitted their designs for the coloring pages and they are now available for download on the web site. Once colored, the finished art can be returned to businesses across Freeport by October 23 where they will be displayed until prizes are awarded from each of the businesses on October 26. “Halloween is such a fun time for kids and families and with all that is uncertain we wanted to give everyone new activities to look forward to,” said City Clerk Dovie Anderson. “We hope everyone will join us in participating in the contests and we are excited to see the submissions start to come in!”
