Andrea Schultz Winter hired as executive director for Greater Freeport Partnership

Freeport –  The Board of Directors of the Greater Freeport Partnership is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Schultz Winter as the organization’s new executive director. Schultz Winter will lead the organization in its mission to foster economic development and community growth in the Greater Freeport area.

With a proven track record of leadership and a deep commitment to the community, Schultz Winter brings a wealth of experience and vision to the role of executive director. Her extensive background in planning and development and strong relationships with local businesses, government partners, and community stakeholders will drive continued growth and prosperity in Freeport and Stephenson County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrea as the new executive director of the Partnership. Her proven leadership, professionalism, and knowledge of development principles makes her a natural choice for this role,” said Mark Gridley, chairman of the board of directors. “Her established relationships within the community and commitment of our collaborative approach will guide the organization towards even greater success in the years to come.”

Schultz Winter joined the Partnership in January 2019 as the development director and recently served as the interim executive director after the departure of Executive Director Mark Williams in September. She has proven her deep dedication to the region through her past and current involvement with many local organizations and initiatives including the Foundation of Northwest Illinois, Freeport Planning Commission, and Freeport Community Public School Fund Board.

“I am honored and excited for this new role at the Partnership,” Schultz Winter said. “I look forward to leading this organization alongside our dedicated, talented team and continuing to support our government and business partners in our shared goal of economic development and growth.”

Schultz Winter received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture, and master’s degree in urban and regional planning all from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She received her American Institute of Certified Planners, AICP, certification from the American Planning Association in 2018.

The Greater Freeport Partnership continues to be the place where people and organizations unite to advocate for economic development, tourism and business growth throughout our region.
