Partnership & City Committed to Serve in 2024

Partnership & City Committed to Serve in 2024
December 5, 2023 Billy George

Three weeks ago, the Partnership contacted our membership and asked for your support as we advocated for full funding from the City of Freeport for 2024. You diligently responded to our request with calls, letters, emails, and messages to City Council members. We thank you for your support as it proved instrumental in increasing the City’s funding to within five percent of our current 2023 allocation.

Our promise to you, our valued members, was we would keep you informed as collaborative conversations ensued. Currently, the Greater Freeport Partnership and the City of Freeport are engaged in positive conversations formulating our 2024 agreement and fully intend to reach a finalized agreement by the end of the month. Our proposed contract and subsequent allocation will allow us to continue to provide necessary services to our members and communities in the focus areas of economic development, business support, tourism, events and placemaking.

We thank you for your patience as both parties continue to work together to ensure that the 2024 agreement reflects a shared vision and sets a clear expectation for our collective efforts in the upcoming year.

We invite all Partnership members to celebrate the holiday season with us at our Holiday Business After Hours, held on Thursday, December 14, 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Freeport Club sponsored by Helm Group, Hughes Resources, Freeport Industrial Roofing, Stewart & Associates, the Muse on Cedar Creek and the Freeport Club.
