Spreading Good News

Spreading Good News
December 19, 2023 Billy George

The holiday season is great for sharing joy. The small acts of kindness, generosity, and philanthropy that exude around the holidays is a testament to how we all care for each other and want the best for those in our community.

While I love the warm feelings of the holidays, it leaves me to wonder why these feelings can’t be spread throughout the year? In the marketing profession, we try to share good news all year round –because there is plenty of it! However, we often hear that certain audiences aren’t receiving the message. It is tough in today’s media landscape to cut through the clutter and efficiently provide information, education, and positive messages to those who have varying access to social media, websites, print media, and streaming services. Then there are those who want information about local programs and events and aren’t even sure where to look. It is apparent that residents, visitors, and other businesses are looking for information and we need your help as members to point them in the right direction!

The Partnership works diligently to provide multiple messaging options to different audience segments as a service to you, our members, as well as visitors, residents, and future partners. In 2024, we are providing you with information so you can help us spread the word to your customers and partners. At the beginning of each month, you will receive an email that includes attachments with all types of media information to print or upload and display in your business. Examples of what will be sent include a monthly calendar of community events, editorial blog of things to do in the county, posters for events and educational programs, graphics and videos to share on your video screens, and more.

You are all conduits to spreading good news. The work of the Partnership and many other businesses and community groups depend on the ability to share what we are all doing to make Freeport and Stephenson County a great place to be.

Happy holidays – spread the joy of the season in your words and deeds.
