Later this month we will be hosting two very different events that highlight what this area’s rich tapestry of businesses have to offer.
On Saturday, April 20 from 10 am to 4 pm we will be hosting the Stephenson County Home Show at the Stephenson County Fairgrounds. The home show, hosted for the second year by the Greater Freeport Partnership, is designed to allow residents to learn about local businesses offering home improvement services. Exhibitors include contractors, home improvement specialists, cleaning services, solar companies, realtors and lenders, and much more. Admission to the home show is free for the public.
If your company is interested in meeting with residents and consumers in Stephenson County, we still have booth spaces left. You can get more information by going to our webpage here. If you have any questions, you can contact us at the Partnership offices at 815-233-1350.
Earlier that week, on Tuesday, April 16, we will be hosting the BASE Camp Pitch Competition at the Eagles Club. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the competition starts at 6 pm. BASE Camp is a series of classes for entrepreneurs and small business owners that covers many of the basics of running a business. The Pitch Competition (similar to Freeport Fish Tank that some of you may remember) is a chance for class participants to show what they have learned and compete for a prize of $2,000 to invest in their business.
This will be a great opportunity to support some local businesses and entrepreneurs, and to learn about new businesses and organizations local entrepreneurs are hoping to start or expand. The Pitch Competition is open to the public. There will be a small $5 entry fee to help us defray the costs of the event. There will be light refreshments. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
