From Surviving to Thriving – Doing Makes All the Difference
November 26, 2024 Billy George

The business landscape in the City of Freeport and Stephenson County is transforming, thanks to the incredible dedication of our existing businesses, the energy of new investors, the positivity of our residents, and the proactive leadership of our local government. Together, we are gradually building an exciting and hopeful future where opportunity thrives, and our community flourishes. The Greater Freeport Partnership celebrates and values every business, investor, and resident who has chosen to invest in our future—whether through entrepreneurial spirit, capital investment or even choosing to call this place home. This is a testament of our dedication to our shared vision of progress as a community.

The Greater Freeport Partnership would also like to thank all the businesses and individuals who took time to partake in the Business Climate Survey. We wish to state that we have heard and acknowledged the concerns of our business community, and we want to assure you that your responses have made a difference. The Partnership is always committed to supporting our local businesses in every possible way. As part of this commitment, we will soon be releasing an aggregated report that reflects the feedback we’ve received, including insights on your challenges and suggestions for improvement. This report will serve as a guide for our continued efforts to provide the resources and support our businesses need to succeed. Together, we will ensure that the journey from surviving to thriving is not just possible, but inevitable.

Finally, as we move forward in our economic and community development journey, we are excited to invite you to a critical opportunity for collaboration and growth. On Monday, December 2nd, 2024, the Greater Freeport Partnership will host a Downtown Revitalization Roundtable. This gathering will bring together downtown business owners, building owners, local government leaders, and community investors to discuss and present a toolkit for the revitalization of our downtown. Our specific goal is to identify actionable strategies for revitalizing our downtown and transforming our community into a thriving, vibrant, and safe hub—one that will not only meet the needs of today but offer hope and excitement for future generations.

We look forward to seeing you and working together to build a better future for Freeport and Stephenson County. Thank you.
