The Greater Freeport Partnership is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its board of directors in 2023. The board of directors is the governing body of the organization and includes community and public leaders to create dialogue between sectors and work toward a unified vision.
In January, the board welcomed Larry Feiner, vice president/mortgage loan officer at GreenState Credit Union, to finish the one-year term of retired board member Mark Wright. Feiner has served on several community boards and volunteered for many local activities during his tenure.
“One of the primary goals at GreenState Credit Union is to give back to the communities we serve and this gives me the opportunity to do just that! I take a lot of pride in this community and enjoy making an impact, not just for members at GreenState, but throughout our wonderful community!” said Feiner.
In February, Delbert Bunker, owner/operator of Bocker Auto Group, joined the board for a two-year term to fill the seat vacated by Anthony Peska who left the board to become an associate judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit. Bunker and his staff at Bocker host multiple community events each year in addition to contributing to local activities and organizations.
“I am excited to become part of an organization that creates a unified effort that helps the residents and businesses move in a positive direction to make a better Freeport and Stephenson County” Bunker said.
The board also appointed a new executive officer to begin the year, as well. Amy Baker, who joined the board in 2022, will now serve as secretary of the executive committee. Baker is the president of Citizens State Bank and an avid supporter of growth in our region.
“I am excited to welcome our new local leaders to the governing body at the Greater Freeport Partnership. These community-minded stewards will help ensure our ongoing economic development efforts remain locally focused. I am so grateful for their willingness to serve and share their expertise!” said Partnership Board Chair Mark Gridley.
